African Hair Braiding Workshop

The artist learned the art of hair braiding from a very early age has been practicing as a professional hair braider for six years and are experienced in the Gambia and today she is willing to share knowledge and skill for African hair breeding to students.
This will be done alongside story telling about African girls.
Hair breading is part of our cultural workshop whereby the student will have the opportunity to learn how to bread their hair in an African fashion. They will also learn the different style of hair breading.
The students will use artificial hair to start the movement of fingers by holding the hair.
There different stages to do African hair breading according to style of fashion will be through beginners, intermediate and advanced stages.

Long term project give the opportunity for student to complete the three different stages.
 
   Terms:
 The hair breading may only interest girls. For schools, please note we do offer various workshops so you may divide boys and girls into different workshop based on their interest. We need to know numbers of student to participate. We will provide resource and material. Note, Hair breeding does take time and to be able to teach student the all process, patient is required. The school need to provide space and chairs with excellent natural light. Students be be encouraged to try braiding using an artificial hair before trying on a natural hair of their class mate.
